ABOUT OUR PROGRAM

The PERSONAL STORYTELLING program is an intensive, hands-on, film immersion course created in association with the Cambodia Ministry of Education, Youth & Sport, Ministry of Culture & Fine Arts and Ministry of Tourism. The course is taught by college professors and industry professionals with the clear goal of teaching students the visual elements of storytelling through the creation of a motion picture. Students will learn how to write, direct, and shoot their collaborative short film during the course. This intensive one-week program will help students understand how to convey their message and story in a visual and engaging way. The rigorous program provides students the opportunity to learn the tools needed to be creative in a cinematic storytelling structure.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

Students will delve deep inside themselves in search of a story uniquely their own and use their filmmaking skills and creative style to confidently share who they are cinematically to a wide audience. The description “wide” is used in that when the student shares their creatively to an audience you are contributing to illuminating the History of Now. Resonance, Articulation, Sincerity and Clarity are key. This course will coach students on their personal filmmaking journey as they develop, shoot and finish their project.

• Through lectures, class discussions and most importantly through filmmaking; students explore and develop clear personal cinematic expression.
• Students’ vision should embody a myriad of emotion and their stories-personal, social, political, or cultural-story impart their desire to communicate with their audience.

• Each student will be guided accordingly in pursuit of his or her aspiration that will ultimately be realized in the best cinematic form the student can achieve.
• Film should embody the students’ personal vision whether narrative or non-narrative in nature.
